ABU Cats Club

A digital hub for a student-led animal welfare movement.

A full website for ABU Cats Club, a student-led animal welfare organization at Ahmadu Bello University — built to support rescue reporting, adoptions, volunteering, education and merchandise sales in one place.

The brief

ABU Cats Club runs cat rescue, adoption, feeding programs and public education across Ahmadu Bello University’s campus — all of it, before this project, coordinated through group chats and word of mouth. They needed one place that could carry the mission (“Protect · Care · Coexist”), make it easy to report a case or donate, and give the club’s work the credibility it deserves.

The approach

The site is organized around five clear jobs a visitor might show up to do: learn About the club, meet Our Cats, Get Involved, Learn about care and One Health, or Shop merchandise — with “Report a Case” and “Donate” surfaced as persistent, unmissable actions throughout. A dark navy palette was chosen deliberately to give a student club the visual weight of a serious public-health initiative, not just a hobby page.

Individual cat profiles (name, location, adoption status) and transparent impact numbers — rescues, members, campus areas reached — turn the abstract mission into something concrete visitors can track.

The outcome

ABU Cats Club now has a professional front door that supports real operations: incoming case reports, adoption inquiries, volunteer sign-ups and donations all route through the site, and the executive council can showcase featured initiatives like Cat Week and the Catwalk march as they happen.
