A portfolio-meets-publication site for an educator and learning designer, built to host his ongoing 'sense-making' notes, portfolio work, and instructional design practice in one calm, typography-first space.
The brief
Salihu is an educator and learning designer who wanted a home for three things at once: a professional portfolio, a public “learning in the open” notes section, and a simple way for people to reach him. Most personal sites pick one of these and bolt the others on — we wanted all three to feel native to the same place.
The approach
The design leans typography-forward and deliberately quiet: generous whitespace, a restrained deep-blue accent, and a layout that gets out of the way of the writing. Navigation was flattened to four destinations — Learning In Public Notes, Portfolio, About, Contact — so the site reads as one coherent practice rather than three separate sections stitched together.
A recurring “Quinn Seeds” format gives Salihu a lightweight way to publish bite-sized learning insights without needing to write a full article every time, which keeps the site feeling alive between bigger portfolio updates.
The outcome
Salihu now has a single, professional address for his work that he can update himself — publishing short notes as often as he wants, without waiting on a developer, while the portfolio and contact sections stay stable underneath.
